Soup for the Soul is a Nonprofit Community Organization addressing food insecurity in the Dundalk area. We are group of volunteers who want to give back to the community Through providing food to those in need. We rely on the generosity of patrons and businesses who donate their time, resources and money to allow us this opportunity to provide assistance to those in need.
Soup for the Soul was established in 1982 by the Haines family, operating as Rita's Supper Table in the basement of the St. Rita School Gymnasium. In 2015, the organization moved from its original location to the Dundalk United Methodist Church. We've had to move a couple of times since then, to find a facility that would allow us to carry out our mission. Our current location is at the Church of God of Dundalk, which allows us to do just that.
At the current time, we are providing a meal and food pantry on Monday afternoons from 2:30 pm until 5:00 pm. We are again able to provide a sit down meal!! The meal was offered from the onset of our founding, and we are finally able to provide that again after 5 years. The foodstuffs offered in the pantry are canned goods, boxed goods, breads, groceries and other goods provided by the grocery stores and restaurants who partner with us. We have also been able to open a Blessings Closet to provide clothing and other items to help our clients.
